PRIVACY POLICY

ScreenCap Studios
ScreenCap ("the App") is developed by ScreenCap Studios. This Privacy Policy explains our approach to your data and privacy. ScreenCap is built with privacy as a fundamental principle: your content stays on your device, we collect nothing, and we never see your data.
1. Our Privacy Commitment
ScreenCap is designed to be completely private:
• No data collection
• No analytics or tracking
• No servers or cloud storage
• No account creation
• No third-party SDKs
• No advertising networks
Everything happens locally on your device.
2. What Data We Do NOT Collect
ScreenCap does NOT collect, access, store, or transmit:
• Your screenshots or CapCam captures
• Your notes, tags, or URLs
• Your organizational data or Stacks
• Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Your usage patterns or analytics
• Your location data
• Your personal information
• Your browsing history or behavior
We have zero visibility into how you use the App or what content you organize.
3. What Data Stays On Your Device
The following information is stored locally on your device and never leaves it:
A. Screenshots and Photos
Regular screenshots remain in your iOS Photos library. CapCam captures are stored privately in the App's local storage directory. Neither are ever uploaded or transmitted.
B. Organizational Data
Your notes, tags, URLs, Stack assignments, and all metadata are stored in your device's local UserDefaults and file system using Apple's secure storage APIs.
C. App Preferences
Your settings (dark mode, grid layout, sort preferences) are stored locally using UserDefaults.
D. Subscription Status
Your subscription status is managed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We query your subscription state locally on your device but never receive or store payment information.
4. Permissions We Request
ScreenCap requests only the permissions necessary for core functionality:
A. Photo Library Access
Required to display your screenshots from the iOS Screenshots album. You can grant full access or limited access. ScreenCap only reads from the Screenshots album and only writes when you explicitly delete a screenshot from within the App.
B. Camera Access
Required for CapCam in-app captures. Camera access is only used when you actively use the CapCam feature. Photos captured with CapCam are stored locally in the App's private storage, not in your Photos library.
C. Notification Permission (Optional)
If you enable notifications, ScreenCap may notify you when you take screenshots so you can organize them instantly. This is entirely optional and can be disabled in iOS Settings.
5. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored locally using Apple's secure storage APIs:
• UserDefaults for preferences and organizational data
• File system (Documents directory) for CapCam captures
• iOS Photos library for regular screenshots (managed by iOS)
ScreenCap does not implement its own encryption because all data remains local to your device, protected by iOS security features and your device passcode/biometrics.
6. iCloud Backup (Optional)
If you enable iCloud Backup on your device (iOS Settings → Your Name → iCloud → iCloud Backup), your device may back up ScreenCap's local data to your personal iCloud account. This is:
• Controlled entirely by you in iOS Settings
• Encrypted by Apple using your iCloud credentials
• Stored in your personal iCloud storage, not our servers
• Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
ScreenCap Studios has zero access to your iCloud data.
7. Third-Party Services
ScreenCap does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or frameworks that collect data. The only Apple frameworks we use are:
• Photos (to access your screenshots)
• AVFoundation (for camera functionality)
• Vision (for on-device OCR text recognition)
• StoreKit 2 (for subscription management)
• PDFKit (for PDF generation)
All of these operate entirely on-device with no external communication.
8. Subscriptions & Payments
Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store:
• Payment information is handled by Apple, not ScreenCap Studios
• We never see your payment details, credit card numbers, or billing address
• Subscription status is validated locally on your device using StoreKit 2
• Apple's Privacy Policy governs all payment and subscription data
For billing questions or refund requests, contact Apple Support.
9. Children's Privacy
ScreenCap does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. The App does not create accounts, require registration, or collect any personal information from users of any age. Because no data is collected or transmitted, ScreenCap is safe for all ages, though it is designed for users 13 and older.
10. Your Data Rights
You have complete control over your data:
• View: All your data is accessible within the App
• Export: Use PDF Export to export your organized screenshots
• Delete: Delete individual caps, Stacks, or all data from within the App
• Complete Removal: Deleting the App removes all local ScreenCap data from your device
Because we don't collect or store your data on our servers, there's nothing for us to access, modify, or delete on our end.
11. Data Sharing & Disclosure
ScreenCap does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your data to anyone because we don't have access to it. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a PDF and share it through iOS share functions.
12. International Users
Because all data processing occurs locally on your device, there is no international data transfer. Your data stays in whatever country your device is located in.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated through the App or on our website. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
